Adventure Express - 2023 Refresh

I created posters, audio, and video for Kings Island’s Adventure Express refresh. As a longtime fan, I was thrilled to help expand its storyline in the new Adventure Port. Thanks to Brad Perdue of KICentral.com for his photos.

Queue/Area Posters and Signage

Samples of posters and signs in the queue and ride area show the different Adventure Port “outposts” and the main Adventure Port story. The bulletin board mixes archival photos and early concept art into stylized field notes. Some characters listed on the board also appear in brief audio cameos in the queue.

Writing and Audio Design for Queue and Ride

I wrote, edited, and mixed an hour-long audio track for the revamped queue, featuring various shortwave radio announcements along with other surprises. These utilized a mix of archival recordings from the ride’s original audio, as well as brand-new sound effects. In addition to the queue audio, I also created tracks that play in the ride’s lift hills and tunnels.
